Welcome to the Lanecia A. Rouse Gallery, in Houston’s historic East End.

Named in honor of founding resident artist Lanecia A. Rouse, the LAR Gallery, housed in Holy Family Episcopal Church, is designed for the flourishing of the arts and stands at the intersection of creativity, beauty, and theology. Since opening in 2022, the gallery has showcased work by Houston-based artists including Anthony Suber, Sarah Fisher, Catherine Martinez, Guadalupe Hernandez, and Saj Baldwin. It also hosts annual exhibitions by the Holy Family Artists’ Collective and served as a gallery site for the 2024 Texas Biennial: The Last Sky.

In the Nave:

New Visions of This World

Sunday, October 19, 2025 | 6 PM | 3719 Navigation

For the first time, the walls of the nave—Holy Family’s understated, sacred worship space—will feature a one-night-only, curated group exhibition and silent auction. Houston artists will offer works created in response to our shared world, and its beauty, tension, and transformation. All proceeds support the ongoing creative and communal work of Holy Family, including the gallery’s year-round programming.

Guests will enjoy live jazz, a thoughtfully curated atmosphere, and light bites from East End culinary partners. Whether you're a collector, a supporter of the arts, or simply looking for a beautiful night out, the evening offers beauty, connection, and imagination in equal measure. Sponsorships at various levels are also available.
